Actor Jon Bernthal shared his preparation process for playing Baltimore cop-turned-criminal Wayne Jenkins. The once-revered police officer was tasked with getting guns off the Baltimore streets and instead robbed citizens and sent innocent people to jail. "I talked to Wayne," Bernthal said on "Salon Talks." "We communicated from prison. I got to know and ride out with so many of the people whose lives he affected and my heart has been completely broken as we have more and more examples of people who have suffered at the hands of corrupt police and weak police and cowardly police who have engaged in brutality." Bernthal, however, shares how he was focused on finding the humanity in Jenkins and his layers as a person. Watch the full "Salon Talks" episode with Bernthal and D.
