From Davy Jones in "Pirates of the Caribbean" to Billy Mack in "Love Actually," Bill Nighy is no stranger to an eccentric character. In fact, the actor loves these types of roles, he shared with Salon. Nighy described his favorite characters as "people who are kind of quietly falling apart." He continued, "People who are assailed by self-doubt. People who have difficulty buying a newspaper." Currently, Nighy is picking up where David Bowie left off in the role of Thomas Jerome Newton for the Showtime series "The Man Who Fell To Earth." The series expands on Walter Tevis' 1963 novel and the 1976 film that made waves across the science fiction genre.
